For a first visit, parents typically bring their child for a consultation covering presenting concerns such as fever, rashes, respiratory illness, developmental queries, or routine immunisations under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme (NIP). The paediatrician will take a history, examine the child, and where needed request investigations — blood panel, urine culture, or chest X-ray — before discussing a treatment plan and any prescription. Developmental milestone reviews and growth monitoring are standard components of well-child visits. For planned procedures or specialist referrals, parents should request a written financial counselling estimate that splits insurance, MediSave, and out-of-pocket portions clearly before proceeding. Integrated Shield Plan holders should confirm pre-authorisation requirements with their insurer in advance.
The most straightforward next step is to contact Thomson Paediatric Centre directly via WhatsApp, phone, or the enquiry form to confirm appointment availability, the consulting paediatrician's name, and what documentation to bring for your child's first visit.

Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Not sure about the doctors but the nurses were not polite and helpful. No empathy to parents wanting to come see the doctor. Once they heard we went to the clinic at Level 3 once. They kept pushing us back to that clinic despite us telling them they have 20 kids infront of us. We were willing to pay and do first time registrations with them as they said they only have 3 kids Infront. However they insisted that if there are 20 walk-ins appointments after we are registered then we will be pushed back all the way unlimited times. All this while, their tone was proud and no empathy or compassion shown. Will not return to this clinic again.
Registered and gave receptionist my membership card but was told not needed because they have it in their system. Waited 40mins to see Dr Eugene Han despite making an appointment. He explains thoroughly and doesn’t rush through consultation. Paid and left the clinic only to realize no discount was given despite membership being noted. Tried to call the clinic as I forgot to ask Dr Han whether I should continue to give my baby Abrilar cough syrup because nothing about cough syrup was mentioned by him. But I called 21 times from 3:50 to 5pm (clinic closing time), and nobody picks up the phone. How is there 2 staff sitting at the reception and 1 nurse with an empty clinic but nobody bothers to answer the phone. Disappointing and now I don’t even know if I should feed my baby cough syrup today, have to wait for tomorrow and pray they bother to answer my call.
The idea of being a new parent to a newborn can be daunting and unfamiliar. But the entire team at Thomson from the Nurses to our Delivery Doctor Dr Claudine to our paediatrician Dr Tan made the entire experience - safe, easy and assuring. Can’t thank everyone enough for assisting us in this huge milestone!
Dr Tan has been great, very patient and takes time to explain everything clearly. The staffs are kind, helpful and make every visit easier. Great experience overall.
The team at thomson paediatric centre is amazing and awesome. They consist of Ms Gaya, Ms Yen, Ms G, Ms Poh Ling and Ms Kwee Hong. From start to finish, the team handled everything excellently and without any hiccups. Last but not least, Dr Eugene Han is super awesome! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Private paediatric consultations in Singapore typically run S$120–250 for a first visit and S$80–180 for follow-ups. On top of the consultation fee, expect additional charges for investigations — blood panels S$60–200, urine tests S$30–80, chest X-rays S$80–150 — as well as vaccinations (S$30–80 per dose under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme, though subsidised options exist at polyclinics) and any prescribed medications. GST applies on private medical services. For planned procedures or day surgery, the clinic should provide a written financial counselling estimate itemising insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the S$500/year general withdrawal limit or S$700/year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for listed conditions. Parents with Integrated Shield Plans should verify pre-authorisation requirements before any procedure. See the full paediatric cost guide for Singapore →
No MOH Healthcare Services Licence or Singapore Medical Council (SMC) registration has been confirmed in the current listing data for Thomson Paediatric Centre. Both are mandatory for a legitimate private paediatric clinic — the clinic premises licence is verifiable on the MOH licensee directory, and the consulting doctor's SMC registration (including specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine) is searchable at smc.gov.sg by name. Parents should confirm both the clinic licence and the named doctor's SMC entry before booking. For a paediatric specialist, look for accreditation in Paediatric Medicine under the SMC specialist register, and check whether the doctor holds a fellowship from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) or equivalent Academy of Medicine Singapore fellowship (FAMS), which indicates sub-specialty training beyond basic registration. Verify the doctor's name on the Singapore Medical Council register and the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence before booking, and for any planned procedure request a written financial counselling estimate that itemises insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket portions before paying any deposit.
Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life cover most private specialist consultations, day surgery, and inpatient stays, subject to the plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. For any planned procedure, confirm pre-authorisation and request a Letter of Guarantee from your insurer before the appointment to avoid claim disputes after the fact. Paediatric specialist consultations are generally claimable under IP outpatient riders where the plan includes specialist cover. MediSave can be used for selected outpatient items under the S$500/year general withdrawal limit, rising to S$700/year under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for listed chronic conditions. Childhood vaccinations under the National Childhood Immunisation Programme are claimable via MediSave at approved providers. For any planned day procedure, request a financial counselling session at the clinic — an itemised pre-treatment estimate splitting insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket costs in writing is standard practice and avoids bill surprises. Parents should also confirm whether the clinic is on their insurer's panel, as panel status affects co-payment levels and direct-billing arrangements.
