About Wok The Name Catering

About Wok The Name Catering

Wok The Name Catering is an event catering provider operating islandwide from its base at Alexandra Road. The listing has been verified by KakiList, though no ACRA registration or regulatory licences have been confirmed at this time. With 17 Google reviews and a rating of 3.6 out of 5, the sample size is small and should be treated as directional only. Pricing is presented at the mid-range tier on a per-pax basis.

When planning an event, start by confirming the pax count and whether a minimum headcount applies — standard buffets typically require 30 or more guests, while mini-buffets may be available from 8 to 15 pax. Clarify the dietary mix early: halal, vegetarian, no-pork-no-lard, no-beef, and other requirements should be declared upfront so the menu can be confirmed accurately. Ask whether MUIS halal certification is held at kitchen level, and request a copy of the certificate if serving Muslim guests. Confirm what equipment is included — chafing dishes, warmers, and serving tongs — and whether a buffet attendant is available on-site. Delivery, setup, and teardown windows should be agreed in writing, along with the food-safety hold time for hot dishes.

Contact Wok The Name Catering by phone or via their online form to request a menu and per-pax quote for your event date, minimum headcount, and dietary requirements before committing to a deposit.

I cant believe it is manage by Chef Eric Ang. I sincerely dont think they deserved any star rating. I work in a well establish Medical Centre for years and i have never came across such a lousy caterer. Firstly, menu is always the same. EVERYDAY, we are offered with 2 similar types of meat , which is either braised or curry chicken . Secondly, fish will be with belly part, which basically is all fats with minimal protein left to eat. Thirdly, “fried fillet “ coated with a lot of flour. So, practically just eating the flour.Last, but not least, multiple occasion where chicken feathers was found on the meat itself. Can you imagine how gross it was.Ultimately it wets my appetite. I would appreciate if you could kindly add in more variety of protein to your menu or adding a twist in cooking style.👎🤮

Food is either TOO salty or TOO sweet. i think the the authority should check on the wok people cause the food they served after 5pm are cooked since 9am ,got bad smell and vegetable recook till very soft .Very unhealthy. Can the wok people tell us is it hygienic by wearing the disposable food glove to serve food by even touching on the food for eg they touch the rice they serve and scoop up an fried egg. Some even arrange the food with this glove that they been wearing by scooping on the food. Àlso when they serve soup this glove tend to get in contact with the soup. What u say if i wear this glove to to scoop food for u without using any scoop just my hand with this glove which i had been using to do many "other thing"

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Wok The Name Catering charge per pax?

Wok The Name Catering prices on a per-pax basis, which is standard for event buffet catering. Singapore market norms run S$15–25 per pax for a standard buffet, S$25–40 per pax for a premium spread, S$18–30 per pax for mini-buffets with a smaller minimum headcount of roughly 8–15 pax, and S$8–18 per pax for bento delivery. Live-station setups typically start at S$30–60 per pax. Beyond the per-pax rate, confirm the minimum headcount, delivery and setup fees for non-central addresses, whether chafing dishes and warmers are included or rented separately, and whether a buffet attendant is available on-site (typically S$80–150 per attendant). GST and any service charge should be clarified in writing before paying a deposit. See the full catering cost guide for Singapore →

What dietary options and halal certification does Wok The Name Catering offer?

Before booking, confirm which dietary options Wok The Name Catering can accommodate: halal, vegetarian, no-pork-no-lard, no-beef (for Hindu guests), vegan, and gluten-free or nut-free where required. No regulatory licences — including MUIS halal certification — have been confirmed for this provider at this time, so if halal-certified food is required for your guest list, request a copy of the MUIS certificate before committing. "No pork no lard" without a MUIS certificate is not the same as certified halal and will not meet the standard for guests who require strict halal. Ask about cross-contamination protocols if you are running a mixed dietary event, and enquire whether a menu tasting is available before finalising the booking.

Is Wok The Name Catering licensed and how is food safety handled?

Legitimate caterers in Singapore hold an SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence, and halal-certified operators additionally hold a MUIS certificate — both should be available on request. No regulatory licences have been confirmed for Wok The Name Catering at this time, so ask directly for the SFA licence number and hygiene grade (A is highest, then B, C, D) before booking, particularly for larger events. Cooked food should be served within a 2–3 hour cooked-to-served window, with hot dishes held above 60°C and cold dishes below 5°C per SFA guidelines. Confirm setup arrival time, buffet replenishment protocol, and the handling policy for leftovers. The 17 Google reviews for this provider carry a 3.6 out of 5 rating — a small sample that should be treated as directional only. Confirm the SFA licence and hygiene grade (and MUIS halal certificate where required), book a tasting before paying the deposit, and put the per-pax rate, minimum headcount, dietary mix, delivery and setup window, and balance schedule in writing.
