About Wong May Ling Child and Cardiology Practice

About Wong May Ling Child and Cardiology Practice

Wong May Ling Child and Cardiology Practice is a paediatric specialist clinic located at Paragon Medical Centre on Orchard Road, serving patients islandwide. It holds a 4.3-star rating across 18 Google reviews — a small sample, so this figure should be treated as directional rather than definitive. No regulatory licences have been provided for this listing, and the practice is not currently ACRA-verified on KakiList, so parents are strongly encouraged to confirm the clinic's MOH Healthcare Services Licence and the consulting doctor's SMC registration before booking.

For a first paediatric consultation at a private specialist clinic, expect to arrive with your child's immunisation booklet and any relevant medical records. The clinic's paediatric scope typically covers the National Childhood Immunisation Programme schedule, developmental milestone assessments, acute childhood illness, and any cardiac concerns in children — though the exact range of services should be confirmed directly with the clinic by phone or enquiry form. Private specialist consultations are generally priced at S$120–250 for an initial visit, with investigations such as blood panels, ECG, or echocardiography billed separately. Families with an Integrated Shield Plan should check pre-authorisation requirements before the appointment, and note that MediSave can be used under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for qualifying conditions.

To make an appointment, contact the clinic by phone or through the enquiry form, state the child's age and presenting concern, and ask for a written estimate of consultation and investigation fees before the visit.

I would like to highly recommend Dr. Wong. She is professional, efficient, and thorough with her checks. Once, our child needed to be hospitalized urgently, and there wasn’t a bed available from the attending doctors at A&E. Dr. Wong stepped in and managed to get everything settled for us within the next hour. Her calm and reassuring demeanor helped ease our anxiety during a very stressful time. She consistently follows up with us to ensure our child is recovering well. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication and compassionate care. Dr. Wong truly goes above and beyond for her patients.

Dr. Wong is front of mind for us when it comes to our baby, she is thoughtful, kind and amazingly reassuring. During our consultations, she's a great listener and takes into consideration our circumstances and provides us with well rounded and practical advice. What we love about Dr. Wong is her forward thinking, she provides tips/advice on next best steps and does the thinking for us; especially when we need it most when we were all sick as a family. E.g. where to go after hours for emergency, preparing and planning our medicine supply for when we are migrating overseas. Dr. Wong is also very dedicated and proactively follows up on our baby as well. Another bonus is that her team is readily available to assist with playtime during a consult, allowing us to fully focus. Overall, we are super grateful to have met Dr. Wong and highly recommend her service.

On Wednesday, my 5 months old baby was diagnosed with a very serious heart condition in kk. We searched everywhere to find the most trusted cardiologist for a second opinion and found very good review on Google for this clinic. In the morning, my husband rushed down to kk to retrieve the medical report, hoping that we will find some light at the end of the dark tunnel. We went down to the clinic and had the consultation by Dr Wong, she checked the medical history of my baby and chit chat about the condition which he's having. To my surprise, she didn't even take a look at the medical report from KK, neither explain to us about the findings, but went on and introduced about all the vitamins my baby needs to take to build up his immunity. With the condition that my baby is having, I would feel more grateful if she could take a look at the medical report and explained to us what is her view and knowledge on that instead of marketing for her vitamins. She then ordered an echo again on my baby which I felt uncomfortable to go ahead. The overall experience was totally disappointed and I did not get any useful medical advice for my baby's condition.

Definitely my peadiatrician of choice! Lots of toys for patients to play with while waiting (and have seen them being disinfected) and little touches to make parents comfortable too! Such a nice clinic that it's hard to get my son to leave when we are done with our visit. Dr Wong is great with kids and is a distraction artist - when my son (1yo+ at the time) was sick and had to have nebulised ventolin at the clinic he didn't even mind. She is full of practical advice/tips and really looks at the whole picture rather than just trying to send you out the door with a prescription!

Beautiful clinic and Dr Wong is an amazing doctor. Short waiting time unlike other doctors we have experienced. Dr Wong is incredibly patient and kind and my children absolutely love their interactions with her.

Is Wong May Ling Child and Cardiology Practice MOH-licensed and how do I verify the doctor?

Every legitimate private clinic must hold an MOH Healthcare Services Licence under the Healthcare Services Act — verifiable on the MOH licensee directory. Every practising doctor must be registered on the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) public register at smc.gov.sg, where you can confirm registration status, specialist accreditation in Paediatric Medicine or Cardiology, and any disciplinary history. No licences have been submitted for this listing on KakiList. Before booking, search the SMC register for the named doctor and cross-check the clinic premises on the MOH licensee directory. Neither step takes more than a few minutes and both are essential, especially for a paediatric specialist setting where you are bringing a child for care. For specialist paediatric practices with a cardiology component, also check whether the doctor holds a fellowship credential — FAMS (Paediatric Medicine or Paediatric Cardiology) or equivalent — beyond basic SMC registration.

How do I use MediSave or insurance at Wong May Ling Child and Cardiology Practice?

Integrated Shield Plans (IPs) layered on MediShield Life generally cover private specialist consultations, day procedures, and inpatient stays subject to your plan's deductible, co-insurance, and rider rules. Contact your insurer before any planned procedure to check pre-authorisation requirements and, where applicable, obtain a Letter of Guarantee to avoid claim disputes after the fact. MediSave can be used for outpatient treatment under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP), which covers selected chronic conditions including asthma, diabetes, hypertension, and certain heart conditions, up to S$700 per year. Standard outpatient consultations not under CDMP are subject to the S$500 MediSave limit. For children, check with the clinic whether the presenting condition qualifies under CDMP before assuming MediSave applies. For any planned investigation or procedure, ask the clinic for a written financial counselling estimate itemising insurance payout, MediSave deduction, and out-of-pocket costs before proceeding.
