About Yuan Tayuan Catering
Yuan Tayuan Catering is an islandwide event catering provider based at Tai Seng Point, Singapore. The listing has been verified by KakiList, though ACRA registration and regulatory licences have not been confirmed at this time. With 8 Google reviews averaging 4.3 out of 5, the sample is too small to draw firm conclusions — treat the rating as directional only. Pricing is indicated at a mid-range tier on a per-pax basis.
When planning an event with Yuan Tayuan Catering, begin by confirming the pax count and your minimum headcount requirement — most buffet caterers set a floor of 30 to 50 guests, while mini-buffet formats for smaller gatherings typically start at 8 to 15 pax. Discuss the event format (standard buffet, mini-buffet, bento delivery, or live station), the dietary mix across your guest list (halal, vegetarian, no-pork-no-lard, no-beef, gluten-free), and whether halal certification under MUIS applies. Confirm what is included in the per-pax rate — chafing dishes, warmers, serving equipment, and whether a buffet attendant is on-site — versus what is billed separately, such as delivery to non-central addresses, setup fees, and teardown. Ask about the menu tasting arrangement before committing, the cooked-to-served food-safety window for hot dishes, and the deposit and balance payment schedule.
To proceed, reach out to Yuan Tayuan Catering via phone or the enquiry form with your event date, venue, estimated headcount, and dietary requirements to receive a per-pax quote and confirm menu availability.
Confirm the SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence (and MUIS halal certificate where required), book a tasting before paying the deposit, and put the per-pax rate, minimum headcount, dietary mix, delivery and setup window, and balance schedule in writing.
Had a mother’s celebration using Yuan Xin Catering. Definitely must have the fried rice, samosa, yam ring, cereal prawn, zhup chai. Minimalist setup that cater to the location.
I'm really grateful to Joanne for fitting me in their tingkat delivery schedule even though it was full. I was recovering from delivery, impossible to cook, and there's only my husband looking after me and the baby. Joanne came to know about this and tried her best to give me a delivery slot. Thousand thanks to Jimmy as well. He is very accommodative and willing to make special arrangement when I was unable to return to Singapore for longer than expected period of time. Most importantly, of course, is the food! Think of it as home-cooked food that you'll never get bored of. It's affordable and yummy! Portion is generous and in fact, we struggle to finish them at times. Highly recommend Yuan Xin Vegetarian if you're looking for delicious dinner delivered to your doorstep!
Into a month of eating their tingkat dishes. The food very simple, less oil, less salt. The potion quite small. Some of the dishes are nice. Vegetable are like old and have a kind of chemical smell (understand as I encounter when I bought vegetables from the supermarket). But really vegetables dish need to improve. Delivery of the tingkat on time

Yuan Tayuan Catering is priced at a mid-range tier on a per-pax basis. Singapore market norms for reference: standard buffets typically run S$15–25 per pax with a minimum of around 30 pax, premium buffets S$25–40 per pax, mini-buffets for smaller groups S$18–30 per pax (minimum 8–15 pax), bento delivery S$8–18 per pax, and live-station formats S$30–60 per pax. Beyond the per-pax rate, confirm the minimum headcount, delivery and setup fee for your venue address, equipment rental (chafing dishes and warmers are sometimes included, sometimes billed separately), buffet attendant cost if on-site staff are needed (typically S$80–150 per attendant), waste collection arrangement, and whether GST and any service charge apply. Before booking, confirm whether Yuan Tayuan Catering holds a MUIS halal certificate — the certificate should display a licence number and validity dates. 'Halal-friendly' or 'no pork no lard' without MUIS certification is not equivalent to certified halal and will not meet the standard for guests who require strict halal compliance. Also confirm availability of vegetarian options (lacto-ovo versus vegan), no-beef dishes for Hindu guests, gluten-free alternatives, and any nut-free requirements. For events with a mixed dietary guest list, ask about cross-contamination protocols between halal and non-halal dishes during preparation and service. Most caterers offer a menu tasting session for orders above a minimum value — request this before committing so you can assess portion size, taste, and presentation firsthand.
Legitimate caterers operating in Singapore hold an SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence with a hygiene grade — A is highest, followed by B, C, and D. Halal-certified operators additionally hold a MUIS certificate; both should be available on request or visible on the company's website. Regulatory licences for Yuan Tayuan Catering have not been confirmed in this listing, so ask the provider directly for their SFA licence details and hygiene grade before booking. For food safety at the event itself, hot dishes should be served within a roughly 2–3 hour cooked-to-served window, held above 60°C, and cold items kept below 5°C per SFA guidelines. Confirm the setup arrival time, buffet replenishment protocol, and the policy for safe handling of leftovers. Confirm the SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence (and MUIS halal certificate where required), book a tasting before paying the deposit, and put the per-pax rate, minimum headcount, dietary mix, delivery and setup window, and balance schedule in writing.
