When planning your event, begin by confirming your headcount and minimum order requirement — standard buffets typically require at least 30 to 50 guests, while mini-buffets accommodate smaller groups from around 8 to 15 persons. Discuss the format you need: buffet spread, mini-buffet, bento delivery, or live station. Share your dietary mix early — halal, vegetarian, no-pork-no-lard, no-beef, or gluten-free requirements shape the menu and determine whether a MUIS halal certificate is needed. Ask whether a menu tasting is available before you pay the deposit, and confirm what is included in the quoted per-pax rate versus billed separately: delivery and setup, chafing dishes and warmers, a buffet attendant on-site, waste collection, and GST. Clarify the setup arrival window and how long hot dishes will be safely held.
To get started, reach out to Yuan Xin Catering by phone or via the enquiry form with your event date, venue address, estimated headcount, and dietary requirements, and request a written quotation before paying any deposit.
Confirm the SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence (and MUIS halal certificate where required), book a tasting before paying the deposit, and put the per-pax rate, minimum headcount, dietary mix, delivery and setup window, and balance schedule in writing.
Had a mother’s celebration using Yuan Xin Catering. Definitely must have the fried rice, samosa, yam ring, cereal prawn, zhup chai. Minimalist setup that cater to the location.
I'm really grateful to Joanne for fitting me in their tingkat delivery schedule even though it was full. I was recovering from delivery, impossible to cook, and there's only my husband looking after me and the baby. Joanne came to know about this and tried her best to give me a delivery slot. Thousand thanks to Jimmy as well. He is very accommodative and willing to make special arrangement when I was unable to return to Singapore for longer than expected period of time. Most importantly, of course, is the food! Think of it as home-cooked food that you'll never get bored of. It's affordable and yummy! Portion is generous and in fact, we struggle to finish them at times. Highly recommend Yuan Xin Vegetarian if you're looking for delicious dinner delivered to your doorstep!
Into a month of eating their tingkat dishes. The food very simple, less oil, less salt. The potion quite small. Some of the dishes are nice. Vegetable are like old and have a kind of chemical smell (understand as I encounter when I bought vegetables from the supermarket). But really vegetables dish need to improve. Delivery of the tingkat on time

Per-pax pricing depends on the format and menu selected. As a reference, Singapore market norms run: standard buffet S$15–25 per person (minimum roughly 30 pax), premium buffet S$25–40 per person, mini-buffet for small groups S$18–30 per person (minimum 8–15 pax), and bento delivery S$8–18 per person. Live-station formats typically start from S$30–60 per person. Beyond the per-pax rate, confirm what is included versus billed separately: delivery and setup fee for non-central venues, equipment rental such as chafing dishes and warmers, a buffet attendant on-site (typically S$80–150 per attendant), waste collection, and GST. Before booking, confirm whether Yuan Xin Catering holds a MUIS halal certificate — this is a separate, verifiable document distinct from a general "no pork no lard" declaration. If your guest list includes Muslim attendees who require strict halal, only a valid MUIS-certified kitchen meets that standard. Also clarify options for vegetarian (lacto-ovo, vegan, or Jain), no-beef for Hindu guests, and any gluten-free or nut-free requirements. For mixed dietary events, ask about cross-contamination protocols — whether halal and non-halal items are prepared and served using separate utensils and serving stations. A menu tasting before booking is the most reliable way to assess quality and portion consistency. Contact Yuan Xin Catering directly to confirm which dietary categories they can accommodate and whether a tasting session is available.
Legitimate caterers hold an SFA Food Shop or Catering Licence with an assigned hygiene grade — A is the highest standard, followed by B, C, and D. No licences are currently listed for Yuan Xin Catering on this directory, so you should ask the company directly for their SFA licence number and hygiene grade before confirming your booking. For food safety, cooked dishes should be served within roughly 2–3 hours of cooking, with hot food held above 60°C and cold dishes below 5°C per SFA guidelines. Confirm the setup arrival time, buffet replenishment schedule, and the handling policy for leftovers at the end of the event. Exercise caution with any caterer who cannot produce an SFA licence number on request — for events above 20 guests, the absence of a valid licence leaves you without recourse if a food-safety incident occurs. Confirm the SFA hygiene grade and, where relevant, the MUIS certificate, in writing before paying your deposit.
